Mike
Katz
A superb and versatile musician, bagpiper
Mike Katz joined the Battlefield Band line-up
in late 1997and has contibuted massively to
the music and accessibility of the band. Not
really a guest in this case, as the band are
co-hosting the event along with Newbattle
Abbey.
Mike will be appearing with Battlefield Band
and instructing at the piping workshops. You
can watch a video
below and find out more about him at www.battlefieldband.co.uk |

'One
of America's finest exports to Scotland,
Katz's playing is impeccable, with every
note as sharp as a bell'
Chet Williamson
'No
one can call the Battlefield Band's Mike
Katz a bog-standard piper. He's always taken
an eclectic approach to the instrument...
...Katz is a master at what he does, and
his joy in presenting it is palpable.'
Chris Nickson
'…
piper Mike Katz's tunes with their droll
titles remind you that their creativity
isn't just a product of the recording studio…'
